About “SISU SENEHASA”

Together with an initiative by the Chairman/ Managing Director Mr. Ashoka Siriwardena of the Bitumix (Pvt) Ltd, Bitumix Exports (Pvt) Ltd, Bitumix Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, Wichy Plantation (Pvt) Ltd, Lanka Roadkem (Pvt) Ltd and Apeiron Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and with the participation of all the staff members who works under those companies, the “SISU SENEHASA” Scholarship program was launched on the 09th of October 2014. This fund mainly focuses on helping the less privileged children / students who are excelling in their education despite of all the hardships they are facing. This program has been named as “SISU SENEHASA” which means love and caring for students in Sinhalese language.

The management of the “Sisu Senehasa” Scholarships program will be carried out by a special committee nominated by the group Managing Director. Those committee members are the members of the participants companies.

Who will receive the “SISU SENEHASA” Scholarships?

“SISU SENEHASA” Scholarships will be offered to less privileged students in a selected area selected by the “SISU SENEHASA” committee.

The categories which the scholarship recipients belong to.

Following are the categories that the scholarship recipients belong to.

I.  For students whose parents’ do not have a sufficient income and having financial difficulties to spend on their children’s primary, secondary or tertiary education.

II. For students whose father has passed away and the whole family is depending on the mother, and the mother does not have a sufficient income for the children education.

III. For students whose father is disabled and cannot do a job to earn a sufficient income and their mother too does not have a sufficient income for their children’s education.

IV. For students whose father has left the mother and children, mother too does not have a sufficient income for their children’s education.

V. For students whose father is addicted to alcohol or drugs and not being supportive to the family.

The “SISU SENEHASA” committee closely monitors the performance level of the students and the use of funds for their education. For this task they gather required details from their school teachers.

  • The details of university students are gathered from faculty heads and university lecturers.
